The former outdoor movie theater and skatepark has a new lease on life!

A new skatepark has opened in Mnichovo Hradiště, and on its very first day it was clear that there was genuine interest in such a facility among both skateboarders and scooter riders.

However, the new complex is not just a sports facility, but also a vibrant place for socializing, staying active, and spending free time outdoors. 🛴

It was built on the site of a former outdoor movie theater, which had housed a skatepark for the past 20 years—a facility that had outlived its usefulness. The local skateboarding community played a key role in the planning and design of the new space, helping to define how the area should truly serve its users. 🛹

The Škoda Auto Foundation supported the creation of the skatepark with a grant of 1.5 million crowns. We believe that high-quality public spaces emerge where the needs of local people meet the city’s long-term vision for development. It is precisely projects created in collaboration with the community that have the best chance of becoming a natural part of everyday life.

The new skatepark thus expands the range of places where people can actively spend their time, meet, and build a connection to their city. 😊
