Support That Never Ends. The NFŠA Will Support Mnichovo Hradiště in the Coming Years

The community center on Mírová Street, footbridges over the highway and the Jizera River, a complete renovation of the Club, the construction of a new skatepark, and the launch of a bike-sharing system. These are just a few of the projects that the Škoda Auto Endowment Fund has supported in Mnichovo Hradiště in recent years. The close cooperation between Mnichovo Hradiště and this important patron—whose activities have had a profound impact on the region—will continue in the coming years. On June 18, representatives of the city and the Škoda Auto Endowment Fund formalized this commitment by signing a memorandum that also lists specific projects the NFŠA will support through 2029.

Škoda Auto established its foundation in 2018 with the aim of supporting the regions where its production plants are located, namely the Mladá Boleslav, Rychnov, and Vrchlabí areas. Specifically, this involves developing public spaces, strengthening local community spirit and civil society, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship to ensure the regions’ sustainable development, and promoting quality education. So far, more than 28 million CZK has been allocated directly to Hradiště, for example, for a footbridge connecting the town with Horka Hill, the Mírová Community Center, the restoration of the Jewish cemetery, and the renovation of the skatepark.

Over the next three years, the Škoda Auto Endowment Fund plans to provide Mnichovo Hradiště with an additional 20 million CZK in support. The funding will be directed toward major municipal investment projects as well as education. Specifically, the foundation intends to contribute to the creation of a recreational and sports zone along the Jizera River, connecting to the MSK and MH Tennis Club facilities; to the urban development of the Jihozápadní Město area, where a new city district is planned; and to the renovation of the children’s health center. As part of efforts to strengthen local solidarity and build new centers of community life, it will support the modernization and development of the Elementary Art School (ZUŠ) and the creation of a new municipal museum in the U Hroznu building. Direct support is also expected for the MAP V Mnichovohradišťsko project, which has long connected individual stakeholders in the educational process and tirelessly strived to improve the quality of education in the Mnichovo Hradiště municipal administrative region.

“What I’ve long appreciated most about working with Mnichovo Hradiště is that behind each project are people with a clear vision of what their town should look like and how to move it forward. It’s important to me to support initiatives that have a real impact on the daily lives of local residents. It is precisely thanks to this shared energy that projects are created which genuinely improve the quality of life in the region. The signed memorandum confirms our long-term partnership and also presents an opportunity to jointly develop further activities in the areas of education, culture, and public spaces. I look forward to what we’ll be able to create together in the coming years, especially because Mnichovo Hradiště is very close to my heart. I spent my childhood here, and my family and friends still live here today,” says Dana Němečková, a member of the Board of Directors of the Škoda Auto Endowment Fund.
