We would like to invite you to the first year of the Sanatorium Sonorum festival, which will take place in the village of Pěčice near Mladá Boleslav on Saturday 24th August.
This listening festival with international participation presents compositions and artistic projects created on-site during residencies. The event takes place in the vicinity of the grove in the year of the extraordinary anniversary of the composer Bedřich Smetana, who lived here for a short time.
Artists from different countries were chosen to represent contemporary trends in the sonic arts and to give Smetana's legacy a contemporary shape and a contemporary interpretation.
Among the performers you will find artists such as: Samuel van Ransbeeck (Belgium), Thistle - Matěj Kotouček (Czech Republic) and Simo Hakalisto (Finland), Richard Grimm (Slovakia), Vojtěch Šembera and Medard Zeman (Czech Republic), Mudaki - Polina Khatsenka (Belarus), Manuel Lima (Brazil) and Anna vs June - Anna Papaioannou (Greece).
The festival is curated by composer and sonic artist Natálie Pleváková. The festival is produced by Studio Hrdinů.
This event was supported by the Green for culture.
By purchasing admission, visitors will financially support the reconstruction of the grove and enable its further development. Tickets can be purchased here.
We look forward to your participation!
