Scholarships for International Stays for Secondary School Students Are Here!
We've once again opened our grant call for secondary school students from the Mladá Boleslav, Vrchlabí and Rychnov areas, who can now apply for the fourth time for a contribution towards an international cultural and study stay for the 2025/2026 school year. The application includes a motivation and recommendation letter and a draft project for the sustainable development of the region the student lives in.
We firmly believe that active people with broad horizons and a genuine interest in the world around them are the foundation of a thriving community. The scholarship aims to support not only the opportunity to gain international experience, discover a new culture and customs, and make new friends, but also to acquire new skills in writing a project — and through it, to give young talents a role as supporters of positive change in their own community.
Students can choose from stays offered by our programme partner AFS ČR, an international non-profit organisation offering international programmes for secondary school students in more than 99 destinations.
Applications can be submitted until 3 November 2024 through the grant system here.
“Exchange programmes offer a precious opportunity, for the rest of your life, to compare — and above all to draw on — a wealth of insights about a foreign country. You discover yourself, you observe your own reactions to the stimuli of an unfamiliar environment, and you watch with amazement how life works in another family and how social bonds are formed and strengthened. The very minimum you take away is the realisation that differences are not always weaknesses, but very often opportunities,” says Martin Švejk from Mladá Boleslav, who travelled to South Africa thanks to the scholarship.

Over the three years of the scholarship programme, we have already supported 13 talented students on cultural-international stays in countries such as Colombia, Paraguay, South Africa, Italy, Belgium and France.
