Continuing Our Support for Bike-Sharing in the Hradec Králové Region

Effectively reducing traffic congestion, encouraging active travel and improving public space — all thanks to bike-sharing.

Our support for active urban mobility rests on solid foundations. We have already launched bike-sharing in Vrchlabí and Rychnov nad Kněžnou, where the service has been running successfully for several years. And for the second year now, we've been pedalling alongside the Hradec Králové Region to extend it further.

Three more municipalities have joined the original eight in the joint subsidy programme — Albrechtice nad Orlicí, the town of Týniště nad Orlicí and the village of Dolní Dvůr. In total, shared bikes are now available in 11 towns and villages, where they help to reduce traffic congestion, support active travel and improve public space.

For this year's expansion of the network, we and the Hradec Králové Region have together set aside CZK 5 million to help municipalities cover the cost of introducing or extending the service.

This year we decided to make the start of the season more creative, and together with the region and nextbike Czech Republic we ran a competition for a new visual to grace the shared bikes. At the gala launch in Jičín we honoured the winner, Adéla — her beautiful design will now adorn 10 bikes across the region. Congratulations!

We also continue to support cycling in the Mladá Boleslav area, where it has been our flagship project since 2019.
