We improve teaching by supporting competency-based learning, school leadership, and developing children's potential.

The Czech education system faces long-term challenges that prevent the full development of the potential of children and young people. These include outdated approaches, inequalities between schools, differing conditions across regions, and insufficient support for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. At the ŠKODA AUTO Endowment Fund, we therefore see education as a key pillar of the development of individuals, communities, and society as a whole.

Quality education is the foundation of development

Our goal is to support systemic changes that lead to genuine improvement in the quality of teaching and the school environment. We focus on individualised support for schools according to their regional needs, the development of leadership in school teams, and strengthening cooperation between schools, their founders, and other actors. We support projects in both formal and non-formal education and work with kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools.

Improving teaching, developing the competencies of pupils and teachers, and stronger cooperation within a region help people better understand complex social topics, form their own opinions, and actively take part in decision-making for the benefit of the regions in which they live. Education thus strengthens not only personal responsibility but also the cohesion and resilience of society as a whole.

Supporting schools and developing educational teams

Education also has a fundamental impact on the economic stability and competitiveness of regions. Investment in education strengthens the workforce, supports innovation, and contributes to sustainable development over the long term. We place particular emphasis on supporting the lowest levels of education, especially pre-school education, where every crown invested brings a multiple return over the long term.

We strive to set up our programmes flexibly so that they respond to the real needs of schools and regions. All activities are created in cooperation with an advisory committee that includes representatives of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT), PAQ Research, SOFA, NPI ČR, and other experts. The programmes are based on data, analyses, and proven practice and aim at the long-term improvement of the quality of education in the regions where the ŠKODA AUTO Endowment Fund operates.
